Mints are a great herbal remedy for relieving indigestion.
Peppermint – The familiar flavours of spearmint and peppermint in toothpastes and chewing gum have powerful medicinal qualities. Peppermint can help with indigestion and sickness when brewed in a tea. Some also use it to sooth sore muscles when applied externally when used as a lotion.
Mints grow well in wet gardens and are often grown in their own pot. They should be harvested just before flowering so as to avoid any bitterness.
How to make it
Take the leaves from the mint plant and wash them in water (tip: don’t wash them too hard as the flavour will be stripped from the plant). Place the leaves in a mug or tea strainer and steep with hot water to extract the mint flavour.
